FREE School Bus Service : The service is provided with the help of 12 School Buses [owned by the governing trust]. On a routine day [all buses combined] we clock nearly 700kms. We have more than 100 V.N.T.S [Vidya Niketan Transport System] Bus Points. We cover the entire city of Dombivli and have extended service upto Kalyan. This free service is used by our nearly 2700 students. These buses are used only for our students and are never engaged in any commercial activity.

Educational Outings : are conducted every alternate year. This is also a free facility and is used by all the students. All the expenses are borne by the school. The basic principle behind this is that every student must be able to participate in this activity regardless of his / her financial background. The outings are to such places where normally their parents don’t take them. We avoid ‘glossy’ locations. A place with nature, adventure and learning meets our expectations. Full safety and security measures are employed during these outings.

Apart from the student outings, separate overnight outings are arranged for teachers as well as for the non-teaching staff.

Outdoor Education Programme [O.E.P] : used to be a regular activity, wherein groups of 50 students used to spend a week in natural surroundings. Basic training in survival, adventure sports, map reading was handled by the professionals. This activity is presently discontinued for want of ‘Advanced Training Programme’ in Outdoor Education format.

All the above facilities are UNIVERSAL FREE FACILITIES.

The school offers the following free facilities to a very large section of the students.

All Jr.KG students get 2 sets of free school Uniform [except footwear]
Mid day meal is given to students from Jr.KG to std 4th
School bag is given to all new students [Jr.KG & transfers]
Computer Education :

The computer division has a well equipped lab of 27 machines all connected in a network. We have a dedicated team of 10 qualified and trained instructors.

 

 

The Computer is a compulsory subject right from 1st std. We are offering ‘Information Technology’ as a subject for std 10th [S.S.C] Board Exam. We are using licensed copies. The school also has a collection of educational compact discs.

 

 

The computer division has an U.P.S facility, which in case of power failure has a backup time up to 4 hours [minimum] so that no practicals are missed out due to power failure.

Laboratory : is well equipped and well stocked. All the students [from std 1st] are exposed to the ‘practical’ working of the laboratory. From std 8th the students perform individual practicals. The laboratory meets all known standards.

Reading Room : is available for all the students. During the period allotted for ‘library’, either the students use the ‘Reading Room’ or the books are allotted to each student. The library has books for all standard-wise groups.

Apart from the Reading Room, we also have separate Reference Library for teachers and also computer related books & magazines.

The Art Room :

is used exclusively for the Drawing lesson. It also has a display board for the pictures drawn by the students & teachers. The board is updated on a weekly basis.

Resource Centre : The school has a separate ‘Learning Disability Cell’. The students are identified and are given counseling by our Special Educator. This facility is provided ‘free’ to the students. Separate time and attention is provided to ‘slow writers’.

Generator Backup : The school has a Power Generator backup for the whole school.

Safety & Medical Assistance : When a student boards the bus, the school becomes responsible for safe passage [till he / she is ‘handed back’ to the parents / guardian after school hours]. The V.N.T.S staff is properly trained to handle emergencies. All the buses are provided with ‘First Aid Kit’.

In case, a student gets sick, we either give him ‘first aid’ or take the child to his/her regular doctor or call the parents and take the child home.

The school is equipped with reliable ‘fire fighting system’. No student is allowed to go outside the school premises. Security personnel are deployed along the playground area to monitor the students during the recess. Entry to the school is strictly restricted to bonafide parents and non-parents are not allowed.

Occasionally, emergency evacuation drills are carried out.

Freeships : The school grants ‘FREESHIPS’ to exceptionally good sports students. Besides this, inspite of our limited [and often ‘stretched to the limit!]’ resources, we manage to offer freeships to nearly 15 economically less privilege students
